The much talked about Ford Shelby GT is now officially launched by Ford, as Ford Mustang and Carroll Shelby once again bring open-air excitement to the road with the return of the Ford Shelby GT this time, coming with a new convertible body style and a new standard color combination.

The Ford Shelby GT convertible is being formally introduced to Shelby and Ford enthusiasts at the annual Mid-America Ford Performance and Shelby Meet, which opens today in Tulsa, Okla.

And like all Shelby Mustang models, production will be limited to assure exclusivity for collectors. The 2008 Shelby GT coupe and convertible will be available from select Ford dealers beginning.

Ford Division, Carroll Shelby and Ford Racing collaborated to create a retail version of The Hertz Corporation Shelby GT-H coupe car called the Ford Shelby GT. Not more than 6,000 models of the vehicle were produced, with every vehicle available only in Performance White or Black.

The highly-coveted Shelby GT is available in a new striking paint combination of Vista Blue with Silver stripes and the choice of two body styles, coupe or convertible.

Shelby GT models start out as a specially-equipped Mustang GT assembled at the AutoAlliance International plant in Flat Rock, Mich. The cars are then shipped to the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas for transformation before delivery to Ford dealerships nationwide.

Each Shelby GT is built for performance. Extensive development has been made in each model, with aerodynamics as a key factor to the car’s powerful, unique front fascia with an aggressive lower air dam. The hood scoop comes straight from the famed Shelby Cobra roadster while unique side scoops are located just before the rear wheel arches. The rear fascia frames dual exhaust tips, and a Shelby badge graces the trunk lid.

And the numbers? First check out what’s under the hood — the engine is improved with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Package to increase output of the 4.6-liter V-8 to 319 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. A high-flow exhaust system with X-pipe crossover enables better power delivery and a throaty V-8 exhaust note. Shelby GT comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission featuring a Hurst short-throw shifter for precise shift action. A five-speed automatic transmission is optional.

Around 2,300 Shelby GT coupes and convertibles are set to be built for model year 2008, available with manual or automatic transmission. Each car will feature an authentication plate on the center dashboard, as well as a matching tag under the hood for documentation in a forthcoming registry. Shelby Automobiles production is scheduled to begin. Pricing will be announced as vehicles arrive at dealerships.

With all the high gas prices out there, hybrid vehicles are continuing to become more popular among drivers. There are a few luxury hybrid choices out there, and the Lexus LS 600h Hybrid seems to be the most popular of those choices. Check out some of the features of the Lexus LS 600h and what sets itself apart from the other hybrids.

In the technological realm, the Lexus LS 600h is state-of-the-art for gadgets. With the car’s power train technology creating the 430 horsepower, as well as the interesting gauges on the dashboard, the vehicle is incredibly technologically advanced.the actual vehicle does a very good job of reminding others that it is a hybrid, not just a joyride vehicle.

The actual transition between the hybrid system or the actual gas-powered engine is relatively seamless, allowing you, the driver, a level of peace you have never heard before. Because of that, you can expect a smoother ride in your hybrid, yet be aware that the electricity motor of the vehicle will only be able to go at lower speeds with much shorter distances.

The EV mode button in the car automatically turns the battery power to the primary source of power, and makes trying to talk about several subjects as well. If interested, know that it takes about 3 minutes to go to 25 miles per hour on a bad day.

As for the actual handling, it is precise and soothing, like any product from Lexus car for sale. Depending on the reviewer, the review may run from “confident” to something more along the lines of handling a limosuine and being told I’ve done a good job. This particular vehicle is perfect for Joyrides.

The gas consumption of this particular hybrid is one of the best out there, and the engine even shuts itself off while on traffic stops. The only thing to look out for is that, like all other hybrids, the air conditioning still runs off of the air conditioning, which can cost a lot. The engine is definitely supposed to utilize regenerative braking, so that way, you can have that particular problem fixed later.

This is a hybrid vehicle, and as a hybrid vehicle from Lexus, the luxury Toyota line, boasting should be expected from the company that the hybrid is one of the busier streets where hybrids were released. As a result, the windmill stopped moving around and they had a chance to talk. At lease there is no reliance for gasoline any longer.

In this case, this talk about the hybrid’s success with being a hybrid system is one that needs to be spoken about. In this particular case, those who are constantly driving, the desire for a rest is more than acceptable. In fact, you don’t need to charge your car because the vehicle does it for you. This particular vehicle is definitely one where you can relax and help take care of the environment pretty passively.

The emissions of the vehicle are much, much lower than it was thought to be in conventional sedan for sale, and the gas mileage is also much better than that of a normal sedan. So, without the greenhouse gases trying to ruin the atmosphere, and the gas mileage making the car a worthy investment, this particular vehicle is still worthy of praise for being able to have emissions that are 70% cleaner in comparison to actual gas-powered sedans.

On top of all of these other features, the LS 600h has an interesting and valuable Pre-Collision System, much like a system that can be seen in other hybrids and conventional vehicles by Lexus. This particular Pre-Collision System is the Advanced variety, which is a much more upgraded version of the PCS. The PCS has the ability to retract the seatbelt, activate the brake assist and help protect you against collision problems.

Should You Buy A New Car - Or Opt For a Lease Takeover

If you have been thinking of buying a new Or Used car for yourself, or buying a second car for the family’s needs, or a new truck, or SUV for your business needs, or leasing a Vehicle/Car, you should also take a look at Car Lease Takeovers besides buying the vehicle outright or even with a Car Loan or leasing a car. Vehicle Lease Takeover may seem complicated, but it is not, and it may turn out to be a better option than buying a car outright or buying a Car with a Car Loan.

Besides the option of buying a new vehicle or car outright or with a bank loan, an individual can lease a vehicle/car for a few years, and then give it back to the leasing company at the end of the period. A Vehicle/Car lease is based on the simple concept that an individual will be paying the amount by which a vehicle’s/cars value is depreciated during the time that they are using it. Depreciation simply means the difference between a vehicle’s/cars original value and the value at the end of the lease period, and this is the factor that determines the cost of leasing. Buying a car outright or on a Car Loan, or leasing a vehicle/car are options of acquiring a Car, but a Car Lease Takeover is another option you can think of.

Lease Takeover and Lease Transfer Companies assist an individual to exit a Lease early by marketing the vehicle/car to lease buyers seeking a short-term lease transfer. Lease buyers can takeover a lease that fits their payment budget as well as select a lease term that fulfills their requirements. A leased Vehicle/Car comes up for a Lease Takeover when someone has leased a vehicle/car, but is unable to continue paying the lease payments to the car leasing company. The biggest advantage of a Vehicle/Car Lease Takeover is the fact that you are taking over an existing lease and just have to get the Lease Transfer to your name. The individual forgoing the Lease has paid most of the initial down payments, monthly payments, and charges when leasing the vehicle/car, and you don’t have to pay these fees again as it is not a fresh lease but a lease takeover.

But you do have to be aware of and enquire thoroughly with the Lease Takeover Company regarding the costs of a Lease Takeover and the type of lease. You can also get many offers and incentives from the individual trying to get out of a lease. The Company will guide you on all procedures and paperwork involved in a Lease Transfer and getting the Car Lease transferred to your name. Almost all Lease Takeover and Lease Transfer Companies have websites where you can register and browse online for Vehicle/Cars in the listings for lease takeovers.

Whichever Vehicle or Car brand you may be looking for or thinking of buying, a Lease Takeover and Lease Transfer Company lists hundreds of Vehicles and Cars of many brands, makes, models, and years of usage. Whether it is a Ford car, Chevrolet car, Buick car, Honda car, Toyota car etc of whatever make, model, and year, you will find your vehicle of choice, within your budget, at a Vehicle Lease Takeover and Transfer Company. If the Company does not have a Vehicle of your choice or within your budget, they will look for one and inform you as soon as they find the vehicle of your choice.

Guidelines For Used Car Finance

Finance options for used cars vary to those that are available for a new car. In essence, financing a used car should work out as better value for money than a new model, as most of the vehicle’s depreciation has already taken place. Recent findings from uSwitch.com revealed that throughout 2007 UK motorists spent £11.6 billion on the ten best-selling cars which lost, on average, 43% of their total value within the first year. Opting for a used car can therefore save you money in the long term, especially if you shop around for the best value finance package to go along with your new wheels.

Hire purchase is the traditional means of car purchase and remains a popular choice. Hire purchase enables you to spread the purchase cost by paying the balance in monthly installments over an agreed period. The deposit amount tends to be low, from around 10% of the overall purchase price, so you don’t need to have a fortune in the bank to choose this option. Compared to other payment alternatives the amount of interest payable is typically lower and can often be negotiated so try a spot of bartering when the times comes.

Another common method of car finance used by most car dealers. You pay a deposit for your car of choice followed by monthly installments over a specified time period. At the end of the payment plan you have a few options which include simply handing the car back to the dealership or making a final ‘balloon’ payment and taking full ownership.

Monthly repayments tend to be lower than hire purchase but remember this is because of the optional final payment being factored in. Always remember that and hire purchase agreements are secured on your car so it may be repossessed if you fail to meet the monthly repayments.

Finally, a used car loan is another possible payment method which tends to be fairly easy to organise and can offer very competitive rates. Offered by most banks, one benefit is that the loan is not secured on your car so it cannot be repossessed. You can also sell it whenever you wish without having to repay the loan, an option not possible with hire purchase.

A key point to remember before arranging your used car finance is that you must make sure you have comprehensively researched the car you have your eye on. Run a report on the vehicles history, check you can afford to pay the insurance premium and take the car for a test drive to ensure all is as it should be. After this all you will have to think about is where to go on your first road trip!

Cheap Car Insurance for Women – It’s Cheaper, But Why?

September 16, 2008

“Women drivers.” Most of us have probably heard that phrase grunted from a man in our lives, whether a friend, family member, coworker, or complete stranger. And, most women have probably been somewhat aggravated by the negative connotation. But, did you know that women’s car insurance is generally cheaper than men’s car insurance? It’s true, and as sexist as it may sound, it’s actually not. There are a plethora of statistical facts that tend to cause car insurance companies to offer lower rates to women drivers than to men drivers, and none of those reasons include the idea that women drivers can’t drive!

Car insurance companies have researched data over a number of years, and the findings support the idea that, as a whole, women drivers aren’t involved in as many accidents as men drivers, and the motor vehicle-related accidents that women drivers are involved in often don’t cause as much damage as motor vehicle-related accidents men drivers are involved in. Women drivers also don’t commit as many motor vehicle-related crimes as men drivers. As if all that weren’t enough, women drivers are also more likely to pass their driver licensing exams on the first try than men drivers.

Because of these statistics, car insurance companies are more apt to offer cheaper car insurance to women drivers than they are to men drivers. Women aren’t being offered cheaper car insurance rates because they are women; they are being offered cheaper rates because statistics show car insurance companies that lower rates are not a dangerous bet for them.

Of course, this isn’t to say that women are better drivers than men, or that any woman driver out there is going to be a better, or safer, driver than her male counterpart; however, it is to say that statistics point to the fact that overall, women are generally safer drivers than men, thus resulting in the reward cheap car insurance for women.
